C14700 Sulphur Copper

C14700 Sulphur Copper is a free machining sulfur copper alloy. The addition of sulfur to the alloy makes copper sulphide that acts as a chip breaker and serves as the base for free machining capacity.

The properties of sulfur copper combined with the high retention of electrical and thermal conductivity values and makes the alloy suitable for various applications. The alloy can be machined at high speeds and results in less tool wearing.

The addition of phosphorus while manufacturing makes the alloy de-oxidised, which in turn provides resistance from hydrogen embrittlement. The alloy is appreciated for corrosion resistance, good formability and easy soldering.
