C31400 Leaded Commercial Bronze

Spec Equivalents: ASTM B140

The C31400 Leaded Commercial Bronze is the combination of natural corrosion resistance with the machining ability of leaded brass. It is the combination of 89% copper and 9% zinc and also contains 2% lead that provides free-cutting characteristics. The low zinc content provides corrosion resistance in potable water with a golden color. The alloy is suitable for outdoor use owing to its resistance towards stress corrosion cracking and where the highest strength is not required.

C31600 Nickel Leaded Commercial Bronze

The C31600 Nickel Leaded Commercial Bronze is the combination of 89% copper, 8% zinc, 2% lead and also contains 1% nickel. The alloy is resistant towards corrosion with higher tensile and yield strength, which is the result of addition of nickle to the alloy. The alloy is resistant towards stress cracking and is suitably be used in high strength outdoor applications.
